‘Russia and Africa must stand as a united front against lies’: fakes exposed at digital forum

On 5 June, the Global Digital Forum (GDF) in Nizhny Novgorod hosted the session ‘Critical thinking in social media: how Africa’s new media counters myths about Russia’. The discussion was organised by the Russian news agency African Initiative. It focused on persistent myths, negative narratives and opportunities to create an objective image of Russia on the African continent. The session was attended by 30 bloggers from African countries.

Dmitry Grigorenko: Russia is ready to share its digitalisation experience with foreign countries

The Global Digital Forum is being held in Nizhny Novgorod on 5 – 6 June. The event serves as a platform for dialogue among representatives of Russian and foreign IT companies, government authorities, the academic community and experts. During the plenary session “A New Digital World: From Monopolies to Equal Partnerships,” a report was delivered by Dmitry Grigorenko, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation and Chief of the Government Staff of the Russian Federation.

Staying Smart in a Smart City: how technologies transform engagement between city and its residents

On June 6, at the Global Digital Forum in Nizhny Novgorod, a panel session titled “Staying Smart in a Smart City: How Digital Technology is Transforming the Relationship Between a City and Its Residents” took place.

The danger of disinformation and international cooperation to counter it were discussed at the session “Responsible Fact-Checking in the Post-Truth Era: New Opportunities for Cooperation,” organised by the Global Fact-Checking Network (GFCN) within the Global Digital Forum.

Russia and the Global South Expand Digital Cooperation

On 5 June, during the Global Digital Forum in Nizhny Novgorod, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Center for Global IT Cooperation and representatives of international organisations from the Global South. The document marks an important step toward strengthening partnerships in digital technologies, paving the way for new joint projects, knowledge exchange and a deeper international dialogue.

From Personnel to Infrastructure: Solar Expands Its Presence in Cuba’s Cyber-Security Market

The Solar Group, an architect of comprehensive cyber-security, has signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with two Cuban organisations—IT company ETI and the national telecom operator ETECSA—during the Global Digital Forum 2025, held on 5–6 June in Nizhny Novgorod. The parties plan to launch and develop projects for training personnel in information security, as well as to exchange experience and expertise in deploying nation-scale protected infrastructure.
