The city of Moscow’s Department of Information Technology will hold four thematic sessions at the 2nd Global Digital Forum, which is scheduled to take place on October 8-10 at the Mechta complex in Gorky Park and is expected to be attended by experts from 110 countries. Each of these sessions will focus on the way digital technology has altered the urban environment.
There will be a session titled “Could you please pass this money to the driver? / Can I cut the line with just a small question? or things we no longer remember in the age of tech.” It will explore the way technology changes everyday lives in megacities. Experts will discuss urban practices which have become irrelevant and were forgotten, and whether digital services can replicate the warmth of a human contact, as well as the way tech helps people take care of each other in a smart city.
During the session titled AI-isation as a Trend for Smart Cities, participants will discuss the way artificial intelligence is changing the digital landscape in the city, while paying special attention to case studies on introducing AI assistants within the urban environment, scaling these solutions and the ability to spread them.
Titled Smart City Performance: New Quality Standard, the third session will serve as a platform for an expert discussion on new approaches to measuring the performance of smart cities, and the way these practices increasingly tend to focus on people, as well as the way city dwellers can influence these new standards. Participants will discuss using the latest metrics for assessing whether various solutions are human-centered into international and national standards for smart cities, and explore frameworks for ensuring that people can contribute to smart city planning.
Finally, the session titled The 3D City: The Way Digital Twins Impact Lives in a Megacity will be devoted to introducing digital twins for addressing complex urban development matters, from long-term planning and modeling traffic flows to monitoring the environment. Experts will discuss the way digital twins improve the effectiveness of executive action and enable cities to reduce their spending and resource use, as well as approaches to seamlessly linking various data streams into a single 3D model. The agenda also covers the question of whether AI agents can be trusted to produce development forecasts for entire cities.
The 2nd Global Digital Forum will take place with the support of the Government pf the Russian Federation, its Ministry of Digital Development and the Foreign Ministry. The Government of Moscow will be taking part as the event’s General Partner.
