The Togolese Republic highly values its cooperation with the Russian Federation and looks forward to its further strengthening and diversification in areas of mutual interest. This was stated by Togo’s Minister of National Education, Mama Omorou, ahead of the 2nd Global Digital Forum, which will be held in Moscow on October 8–10.
According to the Minister, education, vocational training, and skill development are key priorities in this partnership, with a strong emphasis on digitalizing educational systems.
As the most powerful driver of modernization in education, digital transformation expands access to learning materials, enhances teaching and studying methods, and streamlines education system management. The Ministry of National Education would like to advance this agenda through closer collaboration with Russia, focusing heavily on university partnerships.
Togo maintains this dynamic by investing in workforce development. Specialized short-term and long-term training programs in fields like networks, data management, cybersecurity and AI are designed to gradually build a pool of experts equipped to lead the extensive digital education of our youth.
Over the long term, our goal is to build a highly skilled workforce that will boost our internal capacity to develop and produce domestic infrastructure and digital solutions. In this context, Russia’s recognized experience offers a valuable blueprint, and our collaboration will provide the necessary momentum to reach our mutual goal of digital sovereignty.
This concept directly supports the fifth point of our strategic framework, which is the controlled digitalization of the education system, aligned with the priorities set by the President of the Council of Ministers, His Excellency Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé.
It will be a great honor for Togo to continue the exchange of opinions with Russia, which deepens our strategic vision and opens up new avenues for cooperation tailored to our national interests.
