Russian and international experts will discuss how the ethical agenda is evolving alongside the development of increasingly autonomous artificial intelligence systems.
The discussion will focus on new challenges associated with AI agents and AI safety, the limits of system autonomy, the preservation of human oversight, and the allocation of responsibility. Participants will also examine whether existing principles for responsible AI development remain fit for this new stage of technological advancement, and will consider the feasibility of establishing shared approaches to AI ethics and safety across countries with diverse legal systems, cultural traditions, and models of technological development.
The session will bring together Russian and international experts alongside representatives from technology companies, universities, and the global expert community, including specialists involved in UN and UNESCO initiatives on responsible AI development and ethics. The discussion will be moderated by Andrei Neznamov, a member of the UN Independent International Scientific Panel on AI, Chair of the Commission on the Implementation of the Code of Ethics in the Field of Artificial Intelligence, and Managing Director of Sberbank’s Center for Human-Centric AI.
Following the main discussion, the program will continue with a series of short interviews on AI ethics in education and medicine, as well as the development of AI agents and smart cities. Experts will explore how general ethical principles apply to specific sectors and where the boundaries of responsible AI use currently lie.
The international dialogue will conclude with a ceremony marking the accession of new organizations to the Code of Ethics in the Field of Artificial Intelligence.
